Registration for Basant 2027 has begun through the Punjab government’s dedicated Basant Portal, but the current registration phase is specifically for kite and kite-string manufacturers.
The three-day Basant festival is scheduled to be held in Lahore from March 12 to 14, 2027.
How to register for Basant 2027
People involved in kite manufacturing can register through the official Basant Portal. All business registrations are processed through the Punjab government’s eBiz Punjab system.
Applicants need to provide:
- Valid CNIC
- Email address
- Registration fee receipt
- Business premises address for verification
Manufacturers must also obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before starting production. Their manufacturing premises will be inspected and monitored by the district administration.
Who can register now?
The initial registration phase is for kite and kite-string manufacturers.
Registration for kite sellers, traders and kite-flying associations is expected to open in January or February 2027, with the exact dates to be announced by the authorities.
What strings and kites will be allowed?
Only approved kite sizes and cotton string will be permitted. Metallic wire and chemical-coated or otherwise prohibited strings will not be allowed. The administration has said it will take strict action against manufacturers violating the regulations.
The government has introduced the registration system to ensure that kite production and sales remain traceable and that prohibited material does not enter the market.
