Bahrain foreign minister meets Field Marshal Asim Munir, discusses defence ties

Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest. The two sides also discussed the regional security situation and defence and security cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir said that Pakistan and Bahrain have long-standing brotherly relations. He said these relations are based on shared values and mutual respect.

What was discussed during the meeting?

Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in defence and security.
According to ISPR, the Bahraini foreign minister praised the professional skills and operational readiness of the Pakistan Army.
He also expressed his country’s commitment to further improve bilateral cooperation.
The Bahraini foreign minister also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

Field Marshal Asim Munir meets UN chief

United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on October 7, 2026.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest and the regional security situation.
They also discussed the role of the United Nations in promoting international peace and security.
The two sides exchanged views on regional stability, the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, India’s abeyance of the Indus Waters Treaty and terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.
