The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the schedule for the 2027 ICC Women’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Bangladesh and Nepal will co-host the tournament, which begins on January 21 and ends on February 6. The 16-day competition will feature 16 teams and 41 matches across four venues. Sylhet will host the opening match, while Chattogram will stage the final and semi-finals. Bangladesh will open against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on January 21. The hosts will face Australia on January 23 and Nigeria on January 25. All three group matches will take place in Sylhet.

Four Venues to host matches

The tournament will use two venues in Bangladesh and two in Nepal. Chattogram will stage 14 matches, while Sylhet will host 12. Nepal’s Mulpani ground will host eight matches, and Kirtipur will stage seven. Opening-day matches will take place in Sylhet and Mulpani. Games are scheduled for 9:30 am and 1:30 pm local time. The ICC has set reserve days for the semi-finals and final.

Teams drawn into four groups

The 16 teams have been divided into four groups. Group A includes defending champions India, Ireland, West Indies and co-hosts Nepal. Group B features South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan and Samoa. Bangladesh will compete in Group C with Australia, Nigeria and the UAE. Group D includes England, Sri Lanka, the United States and Scotland. India won the 2025 edition after beating South Africa in the final. The defending champions will aim to retain their title.

Super six stage and qualification

The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage. The fourth-placed team in each group will enter a playoff. The Super Six will consist of two groups of six teams. Groups A and D will form one pool, while Groups B and C will form the other. Each team will play two matches against qualifiers from the other original group that they have not already faced.

Points earned against teams that also qualify will carry forward. These points, combined with Super Six results, will determine the semi-finalists. The top two teams in each Super Six pool will reach the semi-finals. Chattogram will host both semi-finals before the final on February 6. The ICC Women’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup gives players an international stage and lets fans follow emerging talent. Pakistan’s Group B campaign will draw attention.
