The Peshawar Safe City Project has connected its central command system with advanced drone and anti-drone technology to improve security.
According to police officials, this is Pakistan’s first integration of drone monitoring and anti-drone technology with a Safe City system.
It will also support surveillance of sensitive areas, traffic and criminal activities.
Police officials said the anti-drone system can detect drones within its radar coverage, up to a distance of five kilometres.
It will automatically send alerts when suspicious drone movements are detected, reaching the Safe City control room, allowing officials to respond without delay.
The system will also provide 24 hours aerial monitoring of major locations.
According to officials, drone surveillance services will operate in Peshawar, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu and Lakki Marwat.
Authorities expect the technology to improve monitoring and help detect possible threats.
