Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif attended the inauguration ceremony of the Pak-China Friendship Hospital in Islamabad, donated by the Government of China, and addressed the gathering on Thursday.
Addressing the ceremony, PM Shehbaz said that China had gifted the hospital to Pakistan.
He also criticised the closure of the hospital after the Covid-19 pandemic, calling the decision “criminal”.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said the Pak-China Friendship Hospital was donated by the government and people of China.
He said the hospital played an important role during the COVID-19 pandemic but was neglected after the pandemic ended.
The 160-bed secondary care hospital has now been restored and upgraded. It is being managed by the Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) to provide medical services.
