Fact Check: No Verified Evidence of Blast at Kabal Chowk in Swat

Azaad Fact Check has debunked a claim circulating on social media that a massive explosion occurred at Kabal Chowk in Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, allegedly causing heavy casualties among Pakistani police personnel.

The claim was reportedly shared in Pashto by an  Afghan proxy X account operating under the handle @PakistanExh. Azaad Fact Check described the report as fabricated and said there was no verified evidence of an explosion, blast or attack at Kabal Chowk or elsewhere in Swat.

The fact-check further stated that the claim appeared intended to spread public panic and create a false impression of deteriorating security in the region.

It also warned against sharing unverified reports of terrorist attacks and security incidents, urging users to rely on credible news organisations and official sources.

Azaad Fact Check wrote in a post on X, “An Afghan proxy handle operating under the account

is circulating highly malicious and fabricated security propaganda on X, falsely claiming in Pashto that a massive explosion occurred at Kabal Chowk in Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in heavy casualties among Pakistani police forces. This claim is ABSOLUTELY FAKE and a deliberate attempt to incite mass panic based on the following facts: Factual ground verification confirms that absolutely no explosion, blast, or kinetic attack has taken place at Kabal Chowk or anywhere else in Swat. The district remains entirely peaceful, secure, and under the robust administrative control of state law enforcement. Pakistani police and security forces are conducting their routine duties with complete operational dominance.

The narrative of a deadly terrorist attack targeting law enforcement is a complete fabrication entirely devoid of any physical reality. Afghan-sponsored proxy networks and hostile digital propagandists systematically invent fictitious terrorist attacks and non-existent security crises within Pakistan.

Having witnessed the Pakistan Armed Forces and local law enforcement agencies successfully eradicate militancy and restore lasting peace to regions like Swat, these frustrated hostile elements desperately attempt to manufacture artificial chaos in the digital space to project a fraudulent illusion of institutional vulnerability.

Weaponising entirely fabricated reports of bombings to falsely project a deteriorating security environment is a calculated psychological warfare tactic. It is explicitly designed to spread unwarranted public fear, disrupt civilian life, provide digital cover for defeated militant networks, and pollute the global digital media space with state-targeted disinformation.”
