Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor’s Adviser on Information and Public Relations, Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement, Samar Haroon Bilour, has taken notice of irregularities in the records of government vehicles belonging to the Relief Department and its subordinate institutions.

She has ordered officials to submit complete details of government vehicles reported missing or unaccounted for during the past 13 years, along with identifying those responsible and initiating legal action where necessary.

Samar Haroon Bilour directed the relevant authorities to compile a comprehensive record of all official vehicles used by the Relief Department, including their registration numbers, manufacturers, models and other essential details.

She also instructed officials to provide the names and designations of all officers and employees using government vehicles, along with details of the vehicles assigned to them.

The governor’s adviser ordered the identification of all missing or unaccounted-for vehicles over the past 13 years and directed authorities to determine the officials responsible for their disappearance or unauthorised use.

She further instructed that formal notices be issued to the concerned officers and employees, requiring them to produce or return the government vehicles within 72 hours. Failure to comply would result in legal action under the relevant laws.

Samar Haroon Bilour also directed the Relief Department to submit a comprehensive report within five days, following thorough verification and examination of all relevant records.

She emphasised that the investigation must establish the facts, identify those responsible and ensure accountability for any irregularities involving government assets.

“Government vehicles and other public resources are a public trust, and there will be no compromise on their protection and proper utilisation,” she stated.

The adviser stressed that transparency, accountability and the identification of responsible individuals in the management of government assets remain among her top priorities.

She added that effective measures would be introduced to prevent the misuse of government resources, negligence and administrative irregularities.

All relevant officials of the Relief Department have been instructed to ensure that records of government vehicles are accurate, complete and readily available for verification.

Samar Haroon Bilour made it clear that no negligence, misconduct or irregularities in the records of government vehicles would be tolerated, warning that all necessary legal and administrative measures would be taken to safeguard public resources.
