The facility of M-tag/E-tag installation has been provided to citizens at ten locations in Islamabad for the facilitation of the public as the deadline nears.
The latest deadline for installing of M-Tag is January 15.
Citizens can get M-tags installed on their vehicles from 9 am to 9 pm. The tag is likely to cost Rs250.
Points have been set up in Kachnar Park Sector I-8, Islamabad Club, F-9 park, Tarlai, 26 No. Chungi, G-11, G-13, Faizabad, Srinagar Highway and Lake View Park.
Citizens can also avail the facility from 3 pm to 9 pm at the Excise and Taxation office.
According to the district administration, citizens can get M-tags from any point near their homes without waiting.
The district administration clarified that no vehicle will be allowed to operate in Islamabad without M-tag after the expiry of the deadline.
In the next phase, legal action will also be taken against vehicles running without M-tags.
Excise Director Bilal Azam has said that vehicles already carrying a Motorway M-Tag will not be required to obtain a separate E-Tag.
He said the department aims to make the process as simple as possible for motorists as the city prepares to introduce mandatory tagging for all vehicles travelling on Islamabad’s roads.
Documents needed to apply for M-tag
To get a new M-tag, you will need your original CNIC and original vehicle registration documents. The tag is likely to cost Rs250.
M-Tag readers also being installed under the Safe City system and are now active and linked with monitoring networks.
