In Peshawar and other districts of the province severe disruptions in natural gas supply have emerged that has affected both domestic and industrial consumers.
According to sources, gas supply is being partly suspended in numerous areas. Whereas CNG stations operating for limited hours are failing to deliver full services.
The situation is particularly serious in Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Karak where gas supply has been deeply affected with the possibility of a full shutdown in some areas.
The urban consumers and Industrialists have urged the government to take instant action to restore gas supply and prevent disruption to businesses and daily life.
Earlier, the government announced a new schedule of gas loadshedding for winter.
As per details, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) released new timings for the gas loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab.
The new schedule will remain in effect till February and the supply is divided into three separate parts.
Gas will be available to domestic user during these three time periods during the day.
• Morning: 5:30 am to 8:30 am
• Afternoon: 11:30 am to 1:00 pm
• Evening: 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
The domestic users are urged to plan their daily cooking routine according to the newly announced gas schedule. On the other hand, the industrial users are exempted from the gas loadshedding.
