‘Pakistan won’t play against India in T20 World Cup’: PM Shehbaz

PM takes notice of NEPRA new regulations

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday announced that Pakistan will not play against India in the upcoming T20 World Cup, while addressing a meeting of the federal cabinet in Islamabad.

He added that Pakistan expresses full solidarity with Bangladesh. He further added that Pakistan has taken a clear and firm stance on the issue.

Addressing a meeting of the federal cabinet, the prime minister said that Pakistan stands with Bangladesh and supports its position. He added that sports should remain free from politics.

“We will not play against India in the T20 World Cup and fully stand in solidarity with Bangladesh,” PM Shehbaz said during his address.

Addressing the cabinet, the prime minister said that the government of Pakistan and the entire nation stand in solidarity with the people of Kashmir and reiterated the country’s support for their cause on Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The meeting began with Fateha for the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood and for the citizens, security personnel, and law enforcement officials who were martyred in recent cowardly terrorist attacks in Balochistan.

The federal cabinet gave in-principle approval to the decisions taken in the meetings of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) held on February 3.

And the Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) held on January 9. And the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Cases (CCLC) held on January 29, 2026.

The prime minister also told the cabinet about his recent meeting with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

He stated that both sides agreed to strengthen coordination and cooperation between the federation and the province for national development and prosperity.

The prime minister also said that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs will not go in vain and that terrorism will be eliminated from the country.

He said the entire nation is deeply saddened over the killing of labourers and children.
