The Islamabad district administration has announced that registration of all taxi and bike-hailing services will begin from tomorrow (Wednesday).
In this regard, a registration dashboard has been developed by the Islamabad administration.
In order to ensure safer travel for citizens, the district administration has decided to take initiate against unregistered taxi and bike-hailing services operating in the federal capital.
An important meeting on the registration mechanism was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, during which the Additional Deputy Commissioner (East) briefed participants on the system.
According to the briefing, citizens will be able to verify taxis and bike-hailing services through a QR code, enabling instant authentication of registered vehicles and drivers.
The administration announced that registration of all taxi and bike-hailing services will begin from tomorrow. Service providers will be able to register easily through the Islamabad City App.
It was further stated that drivers will be required to enter passengers’ CNIC numbers and travel details as part of mandatory documentation.
The DC Islamabad said the initiative aims to enhance commuter safety in the federal capital, adding that citizens will be able to verify drivers with a single click to ensure secure travel.
