Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and former prime minister Imran Khan’s lawyer Salman Safdar has said that his client is in perfect health adding that he will submit a complete report regarding his meeting with the Supreme Court
After meeting with Imran Khan on the orders of the Supreme Court Salman Safdar said, full access was provided to Imran Khan and that a detailed meeting was held.
He added that the meeting lasted for approximately three hours, indicating that there were no restrictions or obstacles.
The lawyer said it would not be appropriate to share further details before submitting a report to the Supreme Court. However, he clarified that Imran Khan’s health is completely fine.
The statement comes amid speculation regarding Imran Khan’s health and jail facilities. Following Salman Safdar’s remarks, concerns surrounding his well-being have eased.
Imran Khan is currently in custody under court orders, while matters related to his health and facilities in jail are under review by higher courts.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday had ordered to arrange meeting between PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan with his lawyer.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan ordered Barrister Salman Safdar to visit the former prime minister in Adiala Jail as a “friend of the court.”
The bench mentioned the need for a fresh report on Imran Khan’s living conditions in prison, saying that a previous directive from the court’s order dated August 24, 2023, when Khan was detained in Attock Jail, required submission of such a report, which remains relevant.
