The Pakistani fans’ excitement is growing higher for the Pak vs India clash in the T20 World Cup 2026, to be held on February 15, 2026, in Sri Lanka.
If you want to watch the match live in Sri Lanka, here is how you can proceed. To attend matches in Sri Lanka, Pakistani passport holders must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travel. Visa-free entry is not allowed for Pakistani citizens flying to Sri Lanka for the tournament.
What is ETA?
The ETA is an online approval for short-term stays for tourism, business or transit. Once the ETA is approved, visitors receive a 30-day short visit visa on arrival with double entry allowed.
This process does not require submitting passport copies, photographs or physical verification at the Sri Lankan mission. Travellers are advised to enter all personal details exactly as they appear in the passport, as errors can delay approval and require re-application.
According to Gulf News, the officials have reminded fans that demand for ETA is likely to be high during the tournament period, so applications should be submitted early to avoid delays.
Has Pakistan agreed to play India?
After earlier uncertainty, the Government of Pakistan has confirmed that its cricket team will play against India in their scheduled T20 World Cup match.
Pakistan initially boycotted the tournament while supporting the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), which took a stance not to play matches in India. But after talks involving the International Cricket Council (ICC), the BCB and Sri Lanka, the government reversed its decision. The match will be played on February 15, 2026, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, as originally planned.
T20 World Cup calendar
The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup runs from February 7 to March 8, 2026, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Talking about the Pak vs USA match, Pakistan secured a notable victory over the United States in Colombo during the group stage, where Sahibzada Farhan scored a half-century, leading Pakistan to a 32-run win.
Fans planning to travel should also check entry requirements and match schedules carefully as they prepare to support their team in Sri Lanka.
