X rolls out surprising new feature: here is what it can do for you

X

The social media platform ‘X’, previously known as Twitter, has introduced a new feature for its users.

The owner, Elon Musk, mentioned the new feature in his tweet by retweeting the post of a user. The post said, “Cool, X has launched a new feature that allows you to filter an account’s posts by latest and most liked, and select which type of posts.”

What is this new feature?

This new rollout by X gives you a number of options while searching for a particular topic or another post. The options available are Latest, Most liked, All, Replies, Quotes, Videos, and Button.

By using the new feature, users can filter their search by selecting which post was the latest, most liked and can select posts according to his/her choice.

Users comments

The users of the platform have given mixed reactions to the new feature introduced by X.

One user commented on the post, “I don’t think that’s cool. This means small accounts disappear completely. The thing with the posts is fine. But how often do you find interesting topics and posts among the smaller accounts? Thus, many things are overlooked.”

Another one posted, “We desperately need an UnLike button. It may be the best polling method ever. I don’t always know what I like…But I can darn sure tell you what I don’t.”

Other features of X

Previously, Elon Musk’s social media platform X introduced a feature that allowed users to see more information about accounts. The update showed where an account was based, how many times the username had changed, the original join date, and how the X app was downloaded.

The feature was aimed at reducing fake accounts and bots, which often pretend to be real users. With artificial intelligence making it easier to create automated accounts, X wanted to give people more context when interacting online.

Users could view the information by clicking on the “Joined” date on a profile. This opened a page showing the account’s join date, location, number of username changes, and the device or app used to access X, such as iOS or Android.

The company first tested the feature in October 2025 on employee accounts, including X’s head of product, Nikita Bier. The goal was to help users identify genuine accounts and avoid misinformation or bad actors.

The update was part of X’s efforts to increase transparency on the platform and make it easier for people to trust the accounts they interact with.
