To promote uniformity, discipline, and a strong professional identity within the organisation, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has introduced a new uniform policy. The new policy will come into effect on February 23, 2026, according to media reports.

All officers and personnel from Grade 17 to Grade 22 will be required to wear the prescribed uniform while on duty.

An order issued by the office of the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency, Dr Usman Anwar, stated that the new uniform policy has been introduced to strengthen discipline and professional identity within the agency.

The policy will apply to all executive officers as well as officers of the Immigration and Investigation cadres.

It has been made mandatory for all executive officers of the FIA, from Grade 17 to Grade 22, to wear uniforms while on duty.

Formal instructions have been issued for the implementation of the new policy. The order further states that it supersedes all previous orders, instructions, and circulars regarding the wearing of uniforms while on duty.
