The Sindh government has announced the dates for Matric and Intermediate examinations across the province, including Karachi.
When are matric and inter exams in Sindh?
According to the decision, Matric, that is the class 9th and 10th, exams will begin from March 31, 2026.
Additionally, the annual Intermediate exams in the province will start from April 15, 2026.
The decision was approved in a meeting of the Sindh Education Department’s Steering Committee. It was held on Thursday afternoon under the chairmanship of Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah.
It was decided that Matric exams will be held after Eid. They are expected to start from March 31, and after a gap of 15 days, the Intermediate exams will begin from April 15.
The meeting also approved that the new academic session 2026–27 will start from April 1.

Sindh matric results 2026
Matric results will be announced by June 1, while Intermediate results will be released by June 15.
The implementation of the uniform examination syllabus introduced in Sindh has been postponed.
It will now be implemented from the 2027 annual exams for the classes 9 and 10.
Summer, winter holidays in Sindh
No changes were made to summer and winter vacations. Summer holidays will remain from June 1 to July 31, and winter holidays from December 22 to December 31.
However, if needed, another Steering Committee meeting will be held in April to review winter holidays.
During the meeting, representatives of Cambridge schools opposed any change in winter holidays. It was said that their schedule follows the international calendar. After this, the discussion was ended.
It is worth noting that according to the Meteorological Department, winter is most severe in January across Sindh, including Karachi. Due to this, school timings had to be changed earlier this year.
