Rain is expected in the city from tomorrow, while air pollution levels remain alarming. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department the present temperature has been recorded on 19 degrees Celsius.
The department said that the wind speeds were at 2 kilometers per hour with 47 percent humidity present in the air.
Meteorologists say there is up to a 30 percent chance of rain in the city from tomorrow in which case it would mark a pleasant change in the weather.
Meanwhile air pollution has been getting worse. Air Quality Index (AQI) of the city was found to be 267 overall which brought Lahore to the 4th position on the list of most polluted cities of the world.
In certain parts the AQI touched 288 levels at CAPR Office, 257 in Model Town, 267 in DHA Phase five and 234 at Civil Secretariat.
Health experts have advised citizens to stay away from any unnecessary outdoor activities particularly calling for children, elderly and people suffering from respiratory illnesses to take extra precautions.
Medical practitioners warn that exposure to polluted air for long periods of time can cause diseases of the respiratory tract and eye-related diseases.
Earthquake tremors felt in Islamabad, KP
Yesterday earthquake tremors have been felt in the federal capital of Pakistan, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Tremors have been felt in Swat and its surrounding areas. Swabi and Peshawar were also shaken by the tremors.
According to PMD Islamabad, an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale was recorded on February 25, 2026. The tremors were felt at 4:12 PM PST.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 114 kilometres. Its epicentre is located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan (36.99°N, 71.41°E).
Tremors were felt in several areas, including Islamabad, Swat, Peshawar, and Chitral.
