South Africa defeated West Indies by 9 wickets in a one-sided encounter in the crucial match of the Super Eights stage of the T20 World Cup.

South Africa’s bowlers kept striking at regular intervals. Njedi starred with three wickets, while Kagiso Rabada and Corbin Bosch chipped in with two wickets each to restrict the Caribbean side below the 180-mark.

In reply, the Proteas produced a breathtaking batting performance, chasing down the 177-run target in just 10 overs for the loss of one wicket, turning what was expected to be a competitive contest into a one-sided affair.

Captain Aiden Markram led from the front with an unbeaten 82, guiding the chase with authority. He received solid support from Quinton de Kock, who scored 47, and Ryan Rickelton, who added 45 as South Africa dismantled the West Indies bowling attack.

With the emphatic victory, South Africa finished first in Group One of the Super Eights with four points. West Indies secured second place, while India ended third and Zimbabwe finished fourth in the standings.
