Earthquake tremors felt in Islamabad, KP

Severe earthquake tremors have been felt in several parts of Pakistan today, including Islamabad, Skardu, Lahore, Peshawar and Faisalabad.

Other affected cities of Pakistan include Diamir, Shangla, Mansehra, Murree, Taxila, Hassan Abdal, Kohistan and Dasu.

The earthquake tremors have been reported to be of 6.3 magnitude on the Richter scale. The depth has been reported to be 190 kilometres.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) has reported that the earthquake was recorded at 9:13 PM in Pakistan time.

The epicentre was located in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region at latitude 36.48°N and longitude 70.84°E.

According to the initial reports, the affected countries include Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.

The earthquake has been reported to be 75 km from Garam Chashma, one of the many branch valleys of Chitral, Pakistan.

The earthquake tremors were also felt in Chitral, where sounds of falling rocks from mountains and collapsing walls were reported. Rescue authorities say that they are on alert.

In Malakand, incidents of walls collapsing have been reported in various areas due to the earthquake.

According to rescue officials, no emergency calls regarding damage have been received so far from Bannu.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in Jhelum, Vehari, Kamoke, Nowshera, Narowal, Gujrat, Sialkot, Sharaqpur Sharif, Phool Nagar, Phalia, Hazro, Gojra, Shahpur Saddar, Pasrur, Mardan, Hangu, Buner, Swabi, Jamrud, Kohat, Shakargarh, Bannu, and surrounding areas as well.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Recently, an earthquake of 5.6 magnitude on the Richter scale shook KP, Punjab and other parts on February 25, 2026, according to PMD Islamabad. The tremors were felt at 4:12 PM PST.

The earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad, Swat, Swabi and Peshawar and their surrounding areas.

It had occurred at a depth of 114 kilometres. Its epicentre is located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan (36.99°N, 71.41°E).
