Bilawal Bhutto praises public-private partnership for free child emergency care

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the collaboration between the public and private sectors has greatly transformed the provision of high-quality, free emergency child care medical services throughout Sindh.

He pointed out that the alliance with ChildLife Foundation highlights how extensive access to complimentary, high-standard pediatric emergency care can be carried out.

By broadening services to include every district and tehsil, Bilawal Bhutto commented that initiatives are in the process of ensuring that no child in Sindh is denied urgent, life-saving treatment and care, with outcomes comparable to those of top hospitals globally.

Recently, the ChildLife Foundation received international acclaim by being awarded the Skoll Award for Social Innovation for 2026. This accolade was bestowed at the Skoll World Forum in Oxford.

The award recognises the effectiveness of its collaboration with the government in providing innovative and scalable solutions that offer 24/7, free emergency care for children throughout Pakistan.

The Skoll Foundation acknowledged the organization for two major initiatives, improving and overseeing pediatric emergency units in major public hospitals, and establishing a telemedicine network that connects smaller, remote facilities with child health specialists via high-definition video and communication systems. This initiative has also played a role in reducing child mortality rates across the nation.

Dr. Ahson Rabbani further stated that the organization’s objective of ensuring that every child in Pakistan can access quality emergency care within a 30-minute timeframe.
