Dar, Canadian FM Anita discuss regional situation, peace efforts

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, during which they discussed the latest situation in the region and ongoing efforts to promote peace.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to resolving issues through dialogue and diplomacy. The two leaders also reviewed Pakistan-Canada bilateral relations and discussed cooperation in areas such as trade, agriculture, and other sectors.

Both foreign ministers emphasised the importance of high-level exchanges in further strengthening relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also held a telephone conversation this evening with the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, Yvette Cooper.

During the call, both leaders discussed the latest developments in the regional situation. The UK Foreign Secretary appreciated Pakistan’s facilitation and its continued efforts to promote dialogue and diplomacy.

Both sides emphasised the importance of sustained engagement for peace and stability in the region and beyond.
