UN secretary general Antonio Guterres praises peace efforts of Pakistan

The Secretary General of the United Nations (UNSG), Antonio Guterres, has praised the peace efforts of Pakistan to reduce the tensions between the US and Iran.

The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishqar Dar, on April 28, held a telephonic conversation with the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres.

The UN Secretary General praised the peace efforts of Pakistan.

His appraisal of Pakistan’s character has sent a positive message to the international diplomatic circles, which has once again appreciated Pakistan’s peace efforts.

Antonio Guterres expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive role in peace and stability in the region.

During the talks, the two leaders discussed in detail the developments in the regional situation and ongoing diplomatic relations with various countries.

During this visit, Ishaq Dar was briefed on ongoing efforts and diplomatic initiatives to establish peace in Pakistan.

The UN Secretary-General recognised Pakistan’s efforts and said that Pakistan’s role in promoting peace in the region and globally is very important and positive.

DPM/FM discussed the latest regional developments as well as Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts and engagement with the parties.

The Secretary General conveyed the international community’s deep appreciation and support for Pakistan’s constructive role in regional and international peace and stability.

He expressed the UN’s full support for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts.

He also expressed resolve that the international community appreciates Pakistan’s efforts and will continue to support these initiatives fully.

On this occasion, the UN reiterated its commitment to continue full cooperation with Pakistan to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
