Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab’s Chief Minister has launched a brand new initiative titled “E-learn She Learn.”

The initiative has a budget of Rs700 million. This will expand economic opportunities for women through digital entrepreneurship and online work.

The program according to details aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping thousands of women across Punjab with high-demand digital skills.

It is expected that the initiative will help women earn from home and participate in the global gig economy.

According to the officials the program is being implemented by the Punjab Skills Development Fund and the Women Development Department, Punjab.

Selected women under the initiative will receive free three-month online training in several key areas.

This includes digital marketing, graphic design, e-commerce, virtual assistance and digital customer care.

Free laptops will also be provided to selected participants by the government. Monthly stipends will also be received during the training period, professional certification and internet support after the program is completed.

The eligibility for this initiative is women up to 15 to 35 years of age. Some of the specialised tracks will accept applicants up to 40 years of age.

It is also necessary for the applicants to be permanent residents of Punjab and possess a valid B-form or CNIC. The education requirements will vary depending on the course chosen.

It was further revealed by the officials that registration will be conducted through the official portals of the Punjab Information Technology and the Punjab Skills Development Fund. Selection will be based on an initial assessment test and merit.
