After India’s invitation, it remains unclear whether Mohsin Naqvi is going to India or not.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President reportedly received invitations to attend the Indian Premier League (IPL) final match, which will take place on May 31st in Ahmedabad, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) meetings.
The final is set to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shifted the match from the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, originally scheduled to host the defending champions, due to operational and logistical considerations.
According to reports, Naqvi has forwarded the invitation to Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif, who will decide regarding his travel to India.
It is pertinent to mention that ICC meetings are also set to be held in India. Other delegates may attend the IPL final.
However, given the current circumstances between Pakistan and India, Mohsin Naqvi’s participation is highly unlikely.
In 2025, India refused to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.
Later, during the ICC World Cup 2025, Pakistan refused to visit India for the matches, hence, the Green Shirts’ matches were played in Sri Lanka.
