Pakistan’s batting woes continued in the second Test against Bangladesh as the visitors suffered another dramatic collapse, leaving the national side staring at the possibility of a series whitewash.
The second day of the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Sylhet belonged entirely to Bangladesh. Their bowlers first restricted Pakistan to 232 runs in the first innings, giving Bangladesh a valuable lead of 46 runs. Later, the batters ended the day at 110 for 3, extending the overall lead to 156 runs.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored a half-century before being dismissed for 52 runs. Mominul Haque contributed 30 runs, while Tanzid Hasan returned to the pavilion after scoring just four.
At the end of the third day’s play, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto remained unbeaten on 13 runs. For Pakistan, Khurram Shahzad claimed two wickets, while Mohammad Abbas took one.
Earlier on the second day, Pakistan began their first innings in reply to Bangladesh’s total of 278 runs. However, the entire side was bowled out for 232 within just two sessions.
Babar Azam was Pakistan’s top scorer with 68 runs, while no other batter managed to score a half-century. Lower-order batter Sajid Khan was the second-highest scorer with 38 runs.

Resuming day two at 21 without loss, Pakistan hoped for a solid start, but their innings quickly lost momentum after both openers departed early. Azan Awais managed 13 runs before being dismissed, while Abdullah Fazal could score only 9.
Bangladesh’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout the session, leaving Pakistan on the back foot in a must-win encounter of the two-match Test series.
After that, captain Shan Masood returned to the pavilion after scoring 21 runs. Babar Azam top-scored with 68 runs, while Saud Shakeel made 8, Salman Agha 21, and Mohammad Rizwan 13.
Among the lower order, Hasan Ali scored 18 runs, Sajid Khan contributed 38, and Khurram Shahzad added 10 runs, while Mohammad Abbas failed to score.
On the first day of the match, Bangladesh were bowled out for 278 runs in their first innings, with Liton Das playing a brilliant knock of 126 runs. For Pakistan, Khurram Shahzad took 4 wickets, Mohammad Abbas claimed 3, Hasan Ali picked up 2, and Sajid Khan took 1 wicket.
