The federal government has implemented Section 144 across Rawalpindi and has declared the Adiala Jail a Red Zone area.
The government have deployed heavy security outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi ahead of the scheduled meeting day for Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Officials said that the police personnel from nine police stations, along with four DSPs, the SSP, SP Saddar and the CPO Rawalpindi, had been assigned security duties in and around the jail.
According to authorities, nearly 1,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed, while a water cannon has also been positioned outside the prison premises.
The local administration has additionally ordered the closure of shops, hotels, tandoors and petrol pumps in areas surrounding the jail as part of heightened security measures.
The increased deployment comes as several PTI leaders and family members are expected to visit the jail.
The Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Sohail Khan Afridi and Imran Khan’s sisters have already announced plans to visit Adiala Jail during the scheduled meeting hours.
Security around the prison has frequently been tightened on days when PTI leaders, supporters or family members gather outside the jail.

A medical team of doctors reached Adiala Jail to examine the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, on Tuesday.
According to the Adiala jail officials, the team will examine the founder of PTI.
The team of doctors includes Dr Arif, Dr Nadeem Qureshi, and other experts.
The doctors have also brought the necessary medical equipment along with them.
Doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS) and Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital are also included in the panel.
