The Federal Government has announced significant policy reforms to promote the trend of the electric vehicle (EV) and expand charging infrastructure in the country.
Under the new policies, the electric vehicles would have more than one charging station with more power connections.
According to the new policy, it will now be possible to get more than one power connection for an electric vehicle charging station in the same place or building.
The government has also allowed the installation of additional transformers and separate connections to expand the charging zones.
On the other hand, only one connection was provided before.
According to the officials, the move aims to promote the use of electric vehicles in the country and expand the network of charging stations rapidly to meet future transportation needs.
Under the new policy, special and relatively cheap electricity tariffs for electric charging stations have also been introduced, aimed at providing convenience to both investors and consumers.
The government has clarified that electricity connections will only be used for charging stations.
If, in any case, the electricity is used for unrelated purposes, the connection will be disconnected, and additional charges will be incurred.
To obtain a connection, owners will have to submit an affidavit assuring that electricity will only be used for charging electric vehicles.

Punjab govt implements new policy for vehicle registration from other province
The government of Punjab have implemented a new policy for the vehicle registration from other provinces.
The Punjab Excise Department has begun implementing a new policy allowing vehicles registered in other provinces to be registered in Punjab.
Officials said the move is intended to make the transfer process easier for vehicle owners while also increasing government revenue.
Under the new system, owners of vehicles registered outside Punjab must first obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) and clearance from the excise department of the province where the vehicle is currently registered.
The documents must then be submitted to the Punjab excise office before the registration process can be completed.
According to officials, the first inter-provincial vehicle has already been registered under the policy in Lahore.
Excise offices have also started receiving applications from other vehicle owners.
The department says the changes are aimed at simplifying procedures for citizens who move vehicles between provinces.
