The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has upgraded the “Consumer Awareness” section on its official website, according to the latest reports today. The step has been taken to improve transparency in telecom pricing and strengthen consumer protection in Pakistan.
Under the new update, PTA has introduced a simpler and more user friendly system that shows quarterly tariff trends for the top ten hybrid bundles offered by major mobile companies. These major companies include Jazz, Ufone, Telenor Pakistan, and Zong.

The updated portal also includes revised tariff sheets showing the latest package prices available in the market.
According to the PTA, users can now check package wise quarterly pricing trends. They can also check yearly percentage increases, validity periods, and incentives that are being offered by these telecom operators.
The authority has said that the new feature will help consumers compare different packages more easily. It will also help people make better decisions according to their needs and budget.
PTA further said the step is expected to improve public access to tariff information and also to present market trends in a clearer and more organised way.
The development comes as demand grows for more transparency in mobile and internet package pricing. Especially as many users depend on hybrid bundles for daily communication and internet use.
The upgraded portal is expected to help users track price changes over time and better understand telecom package trends across different operators.
It also advised consumers to activate balance save services to avoid unexpected balance deductions after internet bundles expire.
PTA bans SIM card sales from midnight to 6 AM
PTA has ordered mobile phone companies and retailers to stop SIM card sales from 12 AM to 6 AM across the country.
According to the reports, the decision was taken to prevent the illegal sale and misuse of fake SIM cards and to improve the country’s security system.
PTA directed all mobile companies to ensure that SIM sales remain suspended during the restricted hours
