Field Marshal Asim Munir’s meetings in Tehran held in a positive and constructive atmosphere, says ISPR

Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, met Iran’s top leadership in Tehran.

The Iranian government said the meeting focused on diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation and promote peace, stability, and security in West Asia.

CDF Munir concluded a short but highly productive official visit to Iran, during which he held high-level engagements with Iranian leadership as part of ongoing mediation efforts aimed at promoting de-escalation and constructive engagement, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

In a statement, ISPR said Field Marshal Asim Munir’s meetings in Tehran were held in a positive and constructive atmosphere.

“Encouraging progress has been made following extensive discussions over the past 24 hours”, the statement added.

According to ISPR, upon arrival in Iran, Field Marshal Asim Munir was received by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni along with senior civil and military officials.

ISPR stated that Field Marshal Asim Munir held important meetings with Iran’s top leadership, during which discussions were held on efforts to reduce regional tensions and promote peace through ongoing mediation initiatives. These meetings were part of continued diplomatic and mediatory efforts.

The Field Marshal met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. He also met Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
