The leadership paid tribute to the vision of the national leaders and the sacrifices and unfailing efforts of scientists, engineers, soldiers and the entire nation in reaching this milestone.
Youm-e-Takbeer is a day celebrated on 28th May in memory of nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan in May of 1998 in the Chaghi district of the Balochistan province in response to India’s nuclear test earlier that same month in the Kasaura district of Punjab province.
The nuclear tests at Chaghi made Pakistan the seventh nuclear power in the world. Pakistan also became the first and the only Muslim nuclear power in the world.
The tests also proved the resilience of Pakistani armed forces and its people. Pakistan’s purpose of being a nuclear power is to maintain a credible minimum deterrence while still having a commitment to regional peace and stability.
