Punjab issues new rules for school summer camps 2026

The Punjab government has announced new rules for summer camps 2026 in public and private schools, according to the reports today. The decision has been taken in order to protect students during the extreme summer heat.

Under the new policy, if the student wants to join the summer camps will be completely voluntary. Schools will not be allowed to force students to attend the summer camp.

In addition to this, the government has also banned schools from charging any extra fees for summer camp activities.

According to the new guidelines, all summer camp activities must take place inside school buildings during fixed timings. Additionally, any outdoor activities will not be allowed because of the high temperatures and heat risks.

The policy says that the schools must use their existing resources to run the camps. The purpose is to avoid placing any financial burden on parents. And still continuing to give students useful educational and recreational activities.

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that the policy is meant to support student learning while keeping children safe during the hot weather.

He said that the government wants to create a stress free environment where students can take part in activities by choice and not under pressure.

Education authorities will monitor both public and private schools across Punjab. This will be done to make sure that they follow the new rules.
