The sister and legal counsel of actress Momina Iqbal, Rimsha Iqbal, has strongly rejected the allegations made by MPA Saqib Chadhar, according to reports on Friday.
The actress’s sister called the claims false and baseless. She also said that the family will take the matter to court over what she described as fabricated allegations.
Further, she challenged Saqib Chadhar to prove his claims of giving millions in cash and gifts. She also said that no such transactions ever took place.
Rimsha Iqbal said that Momina Iqbal has been facing harassment for the past three years. She claimed that when the family spoke about the issue, they were threatened.
She said they were warned about serious consequences and pressure tactics if they tried to file a First Information Report (FIR).
She further alleged that threats were made about creating and sharing fake AI-generated videos if they did not withdraw their complaints.
According to her, the family is now under mental stress due to the situation. She said they are being wrongly shown as responsible even though they are the victims.
She added that legal action will be taken against those making false claims, including people named in her statement.
Meanwhile, the interim bail of PML-N MPA Saqib Khan has been extended until June 24 in the harassment case linked to actress Momina Iqbal.
The hearing was held before Additional Sessions Judge Irfan Ahmed Sheikh. Saqib Khan Chadhar has been booked under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) in the case.
