Alizeh Shah responds to Sarah Khan after Falak Shabbir controversy

Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah has once again come into the spotlight after releasing a detailed video statement addressing the ongoing controversy surrounding her music video collaboration with singer Falak Shabir.

In her latest response, the actress directly tackled the criticism and allegations circulating on social media, while also referencing actress Sarah Khan, whose name has repeatedly surfaced in the debate. Her remarks have reignited discussion online, further intensifying a controversy that continues to divide public opinion.

In the video, Alizeh Shah addressed Sarah Khan, referring to her as “Sarah Baji,” and expressed disappointment over how her earlier concerns have been interpreted and discussed publicly. She said she has been unfairly labelled an attention seeker and mocked for speaking out about her experiences. According to her, only she and God truly know what she went through during that period of her life.

Alizeh also stated that she was promised professional opportunities and future collaborations, which influenced several of her decisions at the time. These claims quickly went viral, drawing strong reactions from both supporters and critics who focused on the emotional tone of her statement and the personal details she shared.

A key point in her clarification was her age at the time of the project. Alizeh revealed that the music video was filmed around six years ago when she was still a teenager. She emphasised that she is now being judged based on her current perspective, without considering her lack of experience and limited authority at that stage of her career. She added that decisions made during production cannot be viewed in isolation, as external pressures played a significant role.

The wardrobe controversy also resurfaced as a major talking point. Alizeh claimed she initially volunteered to manage her own wardrobe, but later said that Sarah Khan took charge of the styling process. She further stated that she was not fully comfortable with the final outfit selections, which are now being widely criticised online. This has sparked renewed debate over creative control and consent in entertainment projects.

Alizeh Shah also alleged that she experienced pressure during the production process, describing it as an environment where young artists struggle to assert independent decisions. She highlighted long shooting schedules and professional constraints that made it difficult to challenge on-set choices. Her comments have triggered broader conversations about power dynamics within the entertainment industry.

She further referred to a particular scene in the music video, stating that she was uncomfortable with its content involving physical interaction. She claimed she raised concerns and suggested alternative approaches, but felt her input was not fully considered. According to her, leaving the project was not a realistic option due to potential professional consequences.

Despite the focus on her statement, Sarah Khan and Falak Shabir remain central figures in the ongoing debate.
