Pakistan’s popular SIM carrier Zong has advised its customers to stay alert against fake messages and online scams on Friday.
BISP, e challan scams
In an awareness message, the telecom company warned users not to click on links sent through suspicious SMS messages claiming to be from e challan services, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), banks, or the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
According to the details, such messages may be used to steal personal and financial information from users.
The company has further urged the customers not to share sensitive details such as CNIC numbers, bank account information, passwords, or other personal data with unknown sources.
According to Zong, if users receive a suspicious message claiming to be from a government department, bank, or welfare programme, they should first contact the relevant organisation directly to verify the information.
Additionally, public awareness is very important in order to prevent cyber fraud. Users should trust only information received from official sources and remain careful when dealing with unverified messages or links.
Zong officially launches 5G services
In a separate update for users, Zong officially launched 5G services for iPhone users in Pakistan recently.
The company made an announcement regarding this on May 12, 2026. According to the announcement, iPhone users can now use 5G services on Zong’s network after updating their phones to iOS 26.5.
Zong said that the new service will allow users to enjoy faster internet and better connectivity.
The company further added that iPhone users across Pakistan can now access 5G without interruption through the Zong network.
Previously, OpenSignal named Zong as the top mobile network operator in Pakistan in its Mobile Network Experience Benchmarking Report for the first quarter of 2026.
The report was based on more than 1.23 billion real-user measurements collected from across the country. It covered 159 districts of Pakistan.
