The Ambassador of Greece to Pakistan, Irene Pochni visited Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, a leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Member of the Sindh Assembly, at his home on Saturday.
They talked about shared interests, bilateral relations, investment opportunities, women’s empowerment, and ongoing development projects in Sindh.
The Ambassador praised the hospitality, cultural diversity, and traditions of Sindh’s people, noting that she was greatly impressed by their love, tolerance, and rich culture. She highlighted the importance of strengthening ties between Pakistan and Greece and expressed her desire to boost cooperation in various fields.
Ambassador Irene Pochni commended the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding women’s empowerment and the related legislation.
MPA Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh mentioned that the Pakistan Peoples Party has consistently taken practical measures to protect women’s rights, promote their welfare, and empower them, affirming the party leadership’s commitment to this cause.
He added that Sindh presents numerous opportunities for both local and foreign investors, with the provincial government creating a favorable environment for investment.
Imtiaz Shaikh also noted that, in alignment with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, several development projects are being effectively carried out through public-private partnerships, positively impacting the community.
Pakistan set up its embassy in Athens in 1975. Greece opened its diplomatic mission in Islamabad in 1987. The relationship between the two countries is founded on mutual understanding and respect.
They share similar views on many significant issues related to peace and development. Additionally, both nations are linked through historical and cultural ties.
