The Police of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has issued a press briefing today. According to it, it said that due to violent actions by the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), four law enforcement personnel, including an SI, were martyred and 89 were injured.

It was also stated that miscreants attacked CMH Rawalakot, damaged property, and beat patients. There were also reports of direct firing.
An APC came under fire, and around 30 bullet marks were found on it. Two tyres of the APC were also damaged.
Law enforcement forces are present in strong numbers in Rawalakot to control the situation. They are working day and night to restore law and order.
It was said that the situation is normal in Bhimber, Mirpur, Kotli, Sudhnoti, Haveli, Bagh, Jhelum Valley, Muzaffarabad and Neelum. In some areas, there is shutter down, and in some there is a partial wheel jam.
Traffic in Azad Kashmir
Police said that they are providing full protection to traders and vehicle owners, due to which business activity and traffic is running.
According to the police, from 6 June 2026 to 14 June 2026, a total of 81 cases have been registered against miscreants of the banned JAAC.
In these cases, 425 suspects have been arrested. Police said 15 illegal automatic weapons with ammunition, iron rods, walkie talkie sets, sensitive items and documents were recovered from the arrested persons.
It was further stated that more than 400 members and workers of the banned JAAC are being placed on the 4th schedule.
The briefing said that due to the good strategy of Azad Kashmir Police and other law enforcement agencies, the overall law and order situation in Azad Kashmir is satisfactory.
Traffic between districts is continuing. All entry points of Azad Kashmir are open and fully restored for traffic.
The public has been requested to remain peaceful, not believe rumours, cooperate with law enforcement agencies, stay away from sensitive places and illegal gatherings, and avoid any banned or illegal group activities.
People are also asked to immediately report any suspicious activity, armed persons, or plans to disturb peace to the nearest police station or district administration.
