Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived at the Prime Minister’s House on Tuesday and recieved a grand welcome from PM Shehbaz Sharif.
The Iranian President was presented with a guard of honour upon his arrival at PM House. National anthems of both countries were played. The Iranian president also planted a sapling at the PM house.
PM Shehbaz introduced President Pezeshkian with other cabinet members at the PM House. The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, also met PM Shehbaz and other cabinet members after the guard of honour ceremony.
Earlier, the Iranian President arrived at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad along with a high-level delegation, where he was received by President Asif Ali Zardari.
First Lady Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi were also present.
President Pezeshkian later held talks with President Zardari. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, regional peace and security, economic cooperation and other matters of mutual interest.

Iranian President also met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on the same day, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.
Both leaders discussed the issue related to security and peace in the region, the ISPR added.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian agreed to strengthen relationships between the two countries and expand economic cooperation.
