The government has reduced the price of petrol and diesel by Rs1.
As per the new official notification released by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been decreased by Rs1 and 97 paisa, and the diesel price has also been reduced by Rs1 and 97 paisa.
The new petroleum prices are Rs297 and 53 paisa for petrol, and that of diesel has been set to Rs309 and 50 paisa.
Earlier, the price of petrol was Rs299 and 50 paisa, and diesel was fixed at the price of Rs311 and 47 paisa.

A viral social media post claiming that new toll tax rates for Pakistan’s motorways and highways appears to be false as the authorities have clarified that no such notification has been released so far.
The Communications and Works Ministry has confirmed that this information is false.
The post uploaded on July 1 to social media, widely shared on WhatsApp and other platforms, lists revised toll tax charges for different categories of vehicles and presents them as an official announcement.
However, no official notification supporting the claimed increase has been issued by the relevant authorities.
In a public statement, the Communications and Works Ministry described the circulating claims as “false and misleading” and urged people not to rely on rumours or unverified information.
The ministry advised citizens to obtain updates only from official government websites and verified social media accounts. It also asked users not to forward or share misleading posts.
The viral notice has caused confusion among motorists by suggesting that higher toll charges have already been implemented nationwide.
A review of the document shows it does not contain the features normally found in official government notifications, such as a reference number, notification details or a formal issuing format.
Toll rate revisions, when approved, are typically announced through official notifications issued by the relevant authority, outlining the revised charges, implementation date and other supporting details.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation that motorway or highway toll rates have been increased from July 1, 2026.
