Khawaja Asif canal jumps

The Defence Minister of Pakistan, Khawaja Asif, 76, and a large number of people took a plunge in a canal from the Motra Bridge in Sialkot to escape the blistering summer heat.

Amid scorching temperatures and humid weather in Sialkot and surrounding areas, the veteran politician visited the canal in a traditional way to cool off.

No matter how old he is, Khawaja Asif had surprised onlookers by jumping into the cold water of the canal from the bridge. He was joined by his close friends and many Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers.

After watching the defence minister swim down the canal without any formalities, a huge crowd came together on the bridge.

His dive was quite energetic, and many people praised his performance. The incident was recorded on a mobile phone, and several videos of the dive were soon posted on social media.
