The banks will be open for longer hours on Tuesday June 30, 2026, to finish government duties and taxes from the taxpayers, June 30 is the last day of the financial year 2025-26.

The new measure will give consumers more time to pay via Over-the-Counter (OTC) and Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs) including digital banking channels, according to a statement issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

In the revised schedule, all the branches of commercial banks and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) branches dealing with customs will remain open till 10 p.m.

NBP branches, which are responsible for collecting customs, will also remain open till 11:59 p.m. for making the last-minute tax payment.

The SBP has also directed banks to remain open for the purpose of special clearance of government transactions by the National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT) as per their requirement.

The banks have also been instructed to provide extended timings and ensure that electronic payment facilities such as internet banking, mobile banking apps, ATMs and others are available continuously to enable taxpayers to pay online without any disruption.

In a separate statement the central bank said it will be closed to the public on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 in connection with a bank holiday to welcome the new financial year.

The closure will also be applicable to all the commercial banks, development finance institutions (DFIs) and micro finance banks in the country.

But bank staff will report to work for routine internal administrative and accounting functions.

The SBP has encouraged customers to make their banking and financial transactions a few days before the bank holiday in order to plan ahead for the holiday.
