The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has issued an important message for women who are receiving financial assistance under the programme on Wednesday.
BISP said that when the quarterly payment is transferred to a beneficiary’s digital wallet, the concerned bank will send an SMS to confirm that the money has been deposited.
After the beneficiary withdraws the money, another SMS will be sent with the full details of the transaction.
This will help beneficiaries to know how much money was received and how much of it was withdrawn.
BISP has also advised the beneficiaries to check these SMS messages carefully.
The programme said that if a retailer does not pay the full amount or makes any deduction, beneficiaries can use the SMS record to claim their full payment.
BISP beneficiaries asked to follow new payment process
Recently, the BISP shared new instructions for beneficiaries about receiving their payments.
BISP said that women who have not yet collected their SIM cards from the Benazir office should collect them first.
After receiving the SIM card, they should wait 10 to 12 days before going to receive their financial assistance.
The programme said that payments will now be sent through digital wallet accounts. This means that the beneficiaries will no longer have to collect their money at a fixed time.
They can withdraw their payment whenever they want from any authorised payment point.
Once the money is transferred to the wallet, beneficiaries will receive an SMS on their mobile phone. The message will show the amount deposited, the amount withdrawn, and the bank charges.
According to BISP, the bank charge for a Rs14,500 payment is Rs280.
BISP also said there is no need to hurry to withdraw the money. The payment will stay in the beneficiary’s wallet account, and women can withdraw the full amount or only part of it whenever they need.
