The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a fire-safety notice to Islamabad Marriott Hotel after finding problems with its fire and life-safety arrangements.
The notice was issued on September 1 under the Islamabad Fire Prevention and Life Safety Regulations, 2010.
The hotel administration has been directed to fix the issues and meet the required safety standards.
What is CDA doing for fire-safety checks?
The authorities are carrying out wider fire-safety checks across Islamabad after the August 26 fire at the PIMS nursery.
CDA teams are checking government offices, commercial buildings and other properties.
Officials are focusing on firefighting systems, emergency exits and evacuation plans.
Earlier this year, CDA inspected around 6,500 buildings across Islamabad. The inspections found that several buildings did not have approved fire-safety plans.
Some also lacked required completion and fire-safety certificates.
Building owners and administrations were told to get the required approvals and fix safety problems.
Authorities also warned that those who fail to follow the rules could face fines and other action.
Which buildings have been sealed by CDA over violations?
CDA has also taken stronger action against buildings where safety issues were not fixed.
Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat, State Life Building and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) building in Blue Area have been sealed.
CDA said that the buildings had earlier been told to address fire-safety issues but failed to take adequate steps.
The authority said buildings cannot be allowed to operate if basic safety measures for people inside are missing.
CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf has directed the relevant departments to take strict action against serious fire-safety violations.

The authority has warned that buildings that fail to fix serious violations may face action under the relevant laws and regulations.
