Christopher Nolan’s Ajrak tie steals the spotlight at The Odyssey premiere

Christopher Nolan's Ajrak tie

Hollywood Director Christopher Nolan’s Ajrak tie has taken over the internet by storm after he was spotted wearing it at the New York premiere of his film The Odyssey.

Nolan chose a custom tie by Aahaan Tandon. The designer also posted the silk Ajrak tie on Instagram.

Ajrak is considered a cultural emblem of Sindh. People wear it with pride during festivals, weddings, cultural events, and official ceremonies.

Being one of Pakistan’s most cherished cultural textiles, traditional Ajrak features deep indigo blue, rich red, black, and white geometric and floral motifs. These colours and designs reflect nature, harmony, and regional artistic traditions.

Nolan’s latest movie, The Odyssey, was released on July 17, 2026.

The Odyssey features a star-studded cast, including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, and several other Hollywood A-listers.

The movie is not based on a true story. It is a foundational epic poem attributed to the ancient Greek poet Homer, composed around the 8th or 7th century BCE. The work belongs entirely to the realm of myth and fantasy, featuring ancient Greek deities, monsters, and enchantresses.

The movie is also running in cinemas across Pakistan and is estimated to cross the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office because of its IMAX release, star-studded cast, and Christopher Nolan’s direction.
