Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s health department has announced hundreds of vaccinator jobs. The jobs will be offered in different districts of the province. A private media channel reported on Monday.

The notification was issued by the KP Director Health Services and according to the notification more than 830 Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) vaccinators will be recruited.

The recruitment process has been initiated by the department. Once recruited the employment will be carried out on a contract basis.

The official document also reveals that about Rs253.16 million has been allocated in order to hire the vaccinators.

The vaccinators will receive a monthly salary of Rs40,000 upon appointment.

The All District Health Officers have also been directed to complete the recruitment process as early as possible.

The officials also revealed that the appointment will be for a year and will be temporary on a contract basis.

A list of vacant positions has also been issued by the health department at the district level.  The recruitment process for these positions will be conducted under the Initial Appointment rules for Civil Servants 2026.

The vaccinators will be very important as earlier this month two new polio cases were reported in Pakistan. This brought the total number of Polio cases to three this year.

The National Institute of Health sources stated that the cases were reported from North Waziristan and Bannu.

In Bannu the case was reported from Jani Khel and in North Waziristan the case emerged from Gariom.

It was also added by the sources that the union councils of Gariom and Jani Khel are inaccessible for polio teams.

Polio vaccination campaigns are facing issues in these areas due to security concerns.
