The government of Pakistan is about to launch various export subsidy schemes all across Pakistan.

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved three new export finance subsidy schemes aimed at boosting Pakistan’s exports, expanding access to affordable financing and increasing support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The decision was taken at an ECC meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

The approved measures include an enhanced EXIM-administered Export Finance Scheme (E-EFS), a new Long-Term Export Growth Financing Facility (LTEGFF), and a performance-based rebate on incremental exports.

According to the Finance Division, the package will provide exporters with fixed, low-rate financing while strengthening financial support for export and import-related activities.

The government said improving access to finance for SMEs was a particular focus of the new measures, as smaller businesses often face greater difficulties in securing affordable credit.

The performance-based rebate is intended to encourage exporters to increase their export volumes, while the long-term financing facility is designed to support investment and sustained growth in the export sector.

The ECC has also directed the relevant authorities to submit a performance review after six months to assess the effectiveness of the schemes.

The government says the review will help determine whether the new measures are achieving their intended objectives and whether further changes are needed to strengthen export financing.
