People across Pakistan are set to enjoy three consecutive holidays in August as the country prepares to mark Independence Day.
Friday, August 14, will be observed as the official public holiday for Independence Day, followed by the usual weekend holidays on Saturday and Sunday.

Across the country, flag-hoisting ceremonies, rallies and other events are expected to be held to mark the occasion. Homes, markets and major roads are also likely to be decorated with national flags and lights.
