The Pakistani cricketer and the current player of the Lahore Qalandars, Fakhar Zaman, said that ball tampering has not affected his performance.
Pakistan opening batter Fakhar Zaman has said that the recent ball-tampering controversy had no impact on his performance, describing it as a minor incident in a professional player’s career.
Speaking in an interview with Express News, Fakhar said he has not played many matches since serving his ban but insisted that such situations are part of the game.
He added that if a player allows such incidents to affect their performance or personality, it becomes difficult to continue at the highest level.
“There are many bigger challenges in a player’s life than this,” he said, adding that even before the incident, his performance had not been affected “even one per cent.”

Fakhar also spoke about his preferred batting position, saying he has always been comfortable as an opener.
He noted that he has opened the innings since his early days in club cricket and continued in the same role for Pakistan and in franchise leagues like the Pakistan Super League.
However, he acknowledged that the final decision on batting order rests with the team management.
“Captains and coaches know better which player can perform at which position,” he said, adding that he remains open to adjustments if required.
Fakhar said that while many changes in batting positions may not always succeed, players at the international and franchise level must remain flexible.
He added that although opening remains his preference, he is willing to adapt based on the team’s needs.
