An e-challan system based on artificial intelligence (AI) has been launched in Khanewal, representing an initiative by the Punjab government to modernise traffic management and enforcement.
As per a statement released by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, the system has been officially inaugurated in the city and is now fully operational.
Officials indicated that the AI-driven system will facilitate effective monitoring of traffic violations and ensure prompt enforcement of regulations.
Making use of advanced Safe City technology, infractions such as speeding, lane violations, and other offenses are being detected automatically without the need for manual intervention.
The authority emphasised that this initiative aims to enhance public safety and improve adherence to traffic regulations through intelligent surveillance and data-driven enforcement.
Residents of Khanewal are encouraged to adhere to traffic rules and collaborate with authorities over the new e-challan system to contribute to safer roads throughout the city.
