Principal approval has been given by Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for the “Sky Glass Bridge” project in Kotli Sattian, Muree.
The purpose of this project is to significantly boost tourism for Punjab and will be the first of its kind in Punjab.
During a high-level meeting which was co-chaired by PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and CM Maryam Nawaz, this decision was taken.
Murree Protection and Restoration Plan was reviewed in the meeting, and it was decided there that international experts will be engaged to prevent further landsliding in the region.
It was instructed by the Chief Minister to take immediate measures to mitigate the mudflow hill effect.
She also ordered restoration efforts and financial aid for the victims of landsliding in Darya Gali, Chatta Mour, Bansra Gali, Jheka Gali, Namal and the surrounding areas.
The establishment of three new hospitality zones was also approved by Maryam Nawaz. Especially in the outskirts of Murree. Specifically, in Sozu, Shawala and Bruri.
Partnerships will be made with the private sectors and five-star hotels of high standards will be constructed.
To oversee the Muree Restoration project, a dedicated team of experts have been formed.
A one-month deadline has been set by the Chief Minister to begin the construction of the Muree Glass Train Project.
Plans for three new projects were also reviewed in the meeting, and a briefing on the development of a Zoological Garden in Bansra Gali also took place.
For the protection of wildlife, a bird aviary and a bear and tiger house are being established.
The first Glamping Pod of Murree will be built at Chewra Hill to attract tourists. Its administration and management will be handed over to the private sector.
Some other approvals were also made, which include Paragliding Club in Chewra, a chairlift in Kotli Sattian, Forest Rest House projects and Punjab House, which remain under review.
