During a cheerful visit to the Learning Through Play Pre-K Center in the Bronx on Saturday, former President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani engaged with preschoolers by reading stories and leading a singalong, marking their first collaborative event.
This occasion represented the inaugural in-person meeting between the two leaders. They read the book “Alone and Together” and led an enthusiastic performance of “The Wheels on the Bus”.
Social media footage captured the pair singing and interacting with the children, revealing a rare, informal aspect of these prominent politicians.
In addition to the enjoyable activities, the visit included discussions with families and a private conversation about Mayor Mamdani‘s administrative objectives.
Obama also shared his thoughts on the visit with Zohran Mamdani, referring to it as “wonderful spending time with New York City’s cutest,” and humorously mentioned singing “Wheels on the Bus” during the event.
Discussions also revolved around his initiatives to enhance free childcare and increase affordability for the working class.
This meeting took place as Mamdani, a democratic socialist, celebrated his 100th day in office.
